I did a reading blitz the last week of December and read three books in one week. Of course I was on winter break so that helped. lol! But it put me on a fantasy kick that I think I will ride with for a little while. So my January reading goals include three fantasies and one historical fiction. Of course as always, these are my hopefuls, so anything can change at any time. And that is totally cool.
Fantasy Reads
- Ashes of Gold by J. Elle: I’m on the street crew for this book and I have been so excited to read an amplify it in the reading communities. It is the sequel to Wings of Ebony.
- The Last Cuentista by Donna Barba Higuera: I just started listening to the audiobook for this one, courtesy of Libro.fm’s Educator ALC program. I am hooked and need to get back to it ASAP so I can find out what happens once they get on the spaceship!
- Broken Wish by Julie Dao: I’m reading this because I just finished Shattered Midnight by Dhonielle Clayton and that was book two of The Mirror series. So I want to read this one to see if I can pick up any additional clues.
Special Author Meet & Greet
I will be participating in a special author event with Ruta Sepetys! So I will be reading the arc of her latest book, I Must Betray You too. It is due to be release February 1, 2022. This one is historical fiction.
TV-Inspired Reading List
If I add anything to my reading list, it will probably either be a nonfiction book or one of the books that inspired one of the several fantasy shows I’m currently binging. Over the past year, I’ve watched Shadow and Bone, The Witcher, The Wheel of Time and A Discovery of Witches. So I might choose one to check out while I wait for the next season.
