May is a beautiful month for reading outside. Flowers are in bloom, but the mosquitos aren’t out yet. When I’m trying to accomplish my May Reading Goals, I always try to get a few outdoor reading sessions in before it gets too hot. This month I have a mixed TBR of fantasy/sci-fi and contemporary fiction. These days I’ve been into audiobooks and going with the flow. So whatever comes up first in my Libby reserve list can often win the slot of what I’ll be reading next. However, I am super excited to read the sequel to Daniel José Older’s Ballad & Dagger and get reconnected to one of my favorite main characters ever who never fails to crack me up, Mateo Matisse.
