Potty Training Day for Girls is a fun book to read in anticipation of starting potty training with your daughter. I wish that I had a book like this when we were potty training our daughter. Thank you to the author and #ReadYourWorld for the gifted copy to review!
Told from Ziana’s point of view, she shares her feelings about not really wanting to potty train. Her mom has declared it Potty Training Day and she wishes that it would go away, admitting that she is a little scared of becoming a big girl. I really appreciated how Ziana expresses her feelings about what potty training symbolizes to her. It’s a helpful book for both parent and child so that both have an understanding about the feelings that can be associated with potty training.
Ziana’s story is the kick off event for potty training. I love this because so many parents feel like they have failed if their child doesn’t have ultimate success with potty training on day 1. This story is a great way to introduce a new routine that will have to be followed long term, until the child gets the hang of going potty on the toilet. It’s a ll a process folks and this book is a great first step! Also, I loved the tips section in the back of the book! I can see this being a book on heavy rotation during the initial potty training phase.
