September Book Wrap up

September was a busy month, per usual. I am still in the middle of a few non-fiction audiobooks that I listen to on my walks. I also lost a weekend of reading to a head cold/allergy 1-2 punch. But I did get to finish some really good books this month!
If you are looking for some additional recommendations for your Latine/ Hispanic Heritage Month TBR, check out some of the books below.
What I Read:
- Mascot by Charles Waters and Traci Sorrell: Audiobook was super awesome (full cast!). Loved the authors’ approach on the topic. Middle Grade. Definitely a great book for the classroom!
- No More Señora Mimi by Meg Medina: Picture book about transitions and caretakers. Loved it! Check out my review: Caregivers & Community are Celebrated in Meg Medina’s New Children’s Book
- Guava and Grudges by Alexis Castellanos: Star-crossed romance featuring rival Cuban bakeries in a small town. YA RomCom. Foodies will love this one! Audiobook was great!
- Libertad by Bessie Flores Zaldivar: YA Queer Coming of Age story set in 2017 Honduras during the fraught time period of an upcoming election. Audiobook was great! Powerful topics. Check out my review: Review: Libertad by Bessie Flores Zaldivar
- Only for the Holidays by Abiola Bello: YA RomCom. Set in the English countryside & London. Fake Dating trope, a Winter Ball and new love! Check out my review: Review: Only for the Holidays by Abiola Bello
