What is on your audiobook playlist? I am currently listening to two engaging audiobooks about young black boys coming of age and dealing with tragic and challenging circumstances.

If you remember and liked Malcolm X the movie, then you will definitely want to check out this novel by Ilyasah Shabazz and Tiffany D. Jackson. It’s a deep dive into the time period of Malcolm X’s youth when he was still Malcolm Little sentenced to a prison term. I am loving the narration so far. The pacing of the plot is perfect and is keeping my attention.

The Cost of Knowing is the second novel by Brittney Morris. This one is so good y’all. The main character has a cursed gift, he can see the future. Any time he touches an object he has a vision. This book needs to be a movie ASAP! Which reminds me that I need to go back to my TBR pile and pick up Slay, Morris’s first novel, and start reading that one as soon as I finish.

I will let you know what I think of the rest as soon as I finish. If you are looking for a well-narrated audiobook, check out these two!
